It’s a special bonus late night episode of Scruffy Science Cinepub 6000 for April as our local comics riff their way through the classic horror flick The Creature from the Black Lagoon to help wrap up the Knoxville Music and Film Festival. The producers of Rain/Shine Events are at it again with the debut of a new monthly comedy showcase bringing comedy to the 100 Block of Gay Street. It’s the launch of Sugar High! at the new home of Sugar Mama’s, a bakery/craft beer bar that serves sweet and savory treats along with delicious brews. And, on the fourth Thursday of each month, comedy will be on the menu, too. Welcome to another weekly edition of the Scruffy City Live Comedy Guide in East Tennessee. It’s packed full of information to help you find live comedy events across the 423 and 865 area code regions of East Tennessee from this weekend to next weekend.

This is our biggest weekly guide yet! You’ll find more than 30 live comedy events in eight different cities over the next 10 days. This week’s list of live comedy in East Tennessee has everything from St. Patrick’s Day fun tonight to vaudeville comedy shows, live comedy theater, touring comedians, improv, film riffing, and comedy fundraisers for good causes. You can see national tours of the Upright Citizens Brigade and the Harlem Globetrotters. Take part in audience voting at the World Series of Comedy local qualifying rounds. The Royal Comedy tour enters its fifth year of touring the nation. This year’s headliner is comedy queen Sommore, along with performances from Earthquake, Gary Owen, Arnez J, and Special K.
