Want to know who is headlining the 2016 Scruffy City Comedy Festival?

Do you want to know who will be headlining the 2016 Scruffy City Comedy Festival?

The 2016 Scruffy City Comedy Festival is Friday November 4th through Sunday November 6th, 2016. The festival will be held at Scruffy City Hall and associated venues all in the Market Square District of Downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. This is the 3rd annual festival. Last year we had headliners Andy Sandford, Jackie Kashian, Shane Mauss and Mia Jackson. This year we have another spectacular line-up of headliners as well.

Once again the festival will take place on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The reason for this is we want working folks that do the 9-5 thing to be able to enjoy some great headliners, but we also want our service industry people (who often don’t work on Sundays) to be able to enjoy the festival as well!

The headliners will be performing each night at Scruffy City Hall. We will also have a few dozen amazing performers form all over the country performing showcases throughout the weekend at nearby venues AND at Scruffy City Hall as well.

If you are interested in being the first folks to hear the line-up of headliners for our festival, simply sign up for our notification e-mail list and we will send you the list of headliners on August 10th at 9am.  This is a full 5 days before the announcement will be made on our web site or social media accounts!

Scruffy City Comedy Festival: This is your Shane on Drugs w/ Shane Mauss

Shane Mauss returns to Knoxville with a completely new show!  “This is your Shane on Drugs” is an entire hour of stand-up comedy about everything related to drugs, specifically psychedelics. From mushrooms to DMT to acid to peyote, Shane will cover it all!  This is a rare performance of this material and is being brought to us as a special event for the Scruffy City Comedy Festival to close out our 2nd annual fest.

Shane Mauss has too many credits to name. Since winning HBO’s Comedy Arts Festival “Best Stand up Comic” Award, he’s gone on to be a favorite on Conan, Comedy Central, Netflix and pretty much everywhere online. His latest album, ‘My Big Break’, debuted at #1 on the iTunes comedy charts and is regarded among fans to be his best work yet. Now he’s diving into a brand new hour about one of his admittedly controversial lifelong passions: psychedelics.

A self-described insane teenager, Shane seems to have done every drug he could get his hands on while constantly in trouble with the law. In a few short years, however, he’s gone from barely getting a high school diploma and near homelessness to interviewing the top scientists in the world about the meaning of life on his hit podcast ‘Here We Are’. Throughout all of this there appears to have been only one constant in Shane’s life: TRIPPING BALLS.

Take a journey down the rabbit hole for some deep, authentic laughs about hallucinations, scientific insights, near-death experiences, and a whole lot of weird. If there is no concept strange enough for you, this is the show for you.
