Enjoy great comedy from local and touring comedians along with 400+ craft beers on the First Tuesday of every month at The Casual Pint Craft Beer Market in Hardin Valley.
Each month the show will feature smart and inventive stand-up comedy from some of the best touring comedians in the region, as well as rising local stars in the Scruffy City Comedy scene.
The show is curated by a quartet of Knoxville’s leading comedians with an eye toward a quality night of entertainment. Perfect for date night or hanging out with friends, each show will deliver a full night of entertainment, but still not keep you out too late on a work night.
Showtime is 7 pm and there is no cover charge for this event. Come on out and enjoy yourself on a Tuesday night. It makes the weekend get here faster.
This month’s show:
It’s Super Tuesday at the voting booth and on the Casual Comedy stage. Elect to have fun and join us on March 1, as Casual Comedy welcomes a pair of great comedians from western North Carolina: Tom Scheve and Art Sturtevant.
Tom Scheve has performed at the Laugh Your Asheville Off comedy festival, Cape Fear Comedy Festival, Scruffy City Comedy Festival and was a finalist in the Rocky Top Comedy Competition, and is regularly a featured performer at shows around the region. He has performed in comedy clubs, theaters, resorts, residential mental health facilities, dive bars, and strip clubs, as well as for church groups, children, recovering drug addicts and active drug addicts. Tom produces Asheville Disclaimer, an award-winning, weekly satirical feature in the alt-weekly Mountain Xpress.
Tom Scheve is a prolific joke writer, and some of those jokes can be read on twitter at https://twitter.com/tomscheve, or you can read some of his work and see clips of his performances at www.tomscheve.com.
Art Sturtevant is a smart, funny comic with the interests of a 20-year old and the body of a middle-age man. His observaions on pop culture, being a father and how you can change so much and so little over the span of decades have cracked up audiences all over the East Coast.
Art has performed at Laughing Skull, Comedy Zones, Side Splitters, The Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival, and — back in the day — NYC’s Comedy Cellar, Catch a Rising Star, Sweeps and Triple Inn. Art’s a contributing writer for Asheville Disclaimer, a weekly satire publication.
Our local guest features are Oak Ridge’s Karen George and Knoxville’s Larissa Radtke. Tyler Sonnicshen is our host this month.
