September’s comedy show includes two of Chicago’s top rising comics, Dave Losso and Alex Kumin. Adding to the laughs are the local comedic talents of Tyler Sonnichsen and John Andrew Miller.

A little bit about the featured artists:
Dave Losso was born & raised and currently lives in Chicago, IL but enjoys doing stand-up just about anywhere. Sometimes this means performing in living rooms, the Orlando Indie Comedy Festival, bowling alleys, the Cape Fear Comedy Festival, sex shops, the Madison Comedy Festival and even comic book stores.

His tireless DIY work ethic has landed him all over the country and sharing the stage with such acts as Kyle Kinane, Ari Shaffir, Ben Kronberg, Sean Patton, Jared Logan and Ian Karmel. He’s also been featured on Hindsight with Dan Van Kirk, Arguments & Grievances, in the Chicago Tribune and appeared in the pilot Hidden America with Jonah Ray.

Back home, he produces the critically acclaimed showcases The Yeah Buddy Awesome Time Comedy Show and Best Night Ever and served as a staff writer for The Whiskey Journal Live at The Lincoln Lodge.

The 1988 film Die Hard is based on his life.

Alex Kumin’s bold and socially conscious standup delights crowds across the city of Chicago and around the US. She is a cast member of the longest running independent standup comedy showcase in the country, The Lincoln Lodge, and is one of the fastest rising comedians in the city.

She has opened for Kyle Kinane, Todd Barry and Jen Kirkman, and has appeared in Accidental Comedy Fest, Limestone Comedy Festival and The Chicago Comedy Expo. She was highlighted in Chicago magazine as a comedian with “unapologetic honesty” and tackles heavy hitting social issues, ranging from gender inequality to thigh chaffing.

First Friday Comedy at Saw Works Brewing Company

A comedy show not to miss, featuring top comedians, Kenny DeForest and Clark Jones. We would never leave out local talent, providing more laughs are Shane Rhyne and Tyler Sonnichsen. Saw Works Brewery loves you so enjoy this FREE comedy show. Check out the comedians impressive bios.

Clark Jones believes comedy is the most beautifully awkward way of telling the truth. A graduate of Atlanta’s Morehouse College and a a Cubs fan from Chicago’s south side, he uses his diverse background to relate to any type of crowd, regardless of their upbringing. He has been featured at Chicago comedy Clubs Jokes and Notes, Zanies; The Improv as well as Laugh Boston in Masachusetts and the Brooklyn, Chicago Just for Laughs, and New York Comedy Festivals.

You can catch his writings every Tuesday in the Chicago Trbune’s Red Eye magapaper, and him hosting TimeOut New York’s favorite weekly comedy show, Comedy at the Knitting Factory.

After 5 years coming up through Chicago’s notorious comedy scene, Kenny DeForest is now a New York-based comic known for combining keen, off-beat observations and astute satirical narratives with unbridled silliness to create a truly original blend of comedic styles and influences for his audiences to enjoy. Always fully committed to creating honest, soulful material, DeForest is a true eccentric who’s only mission in life is to be respected by his peers and to be in someone’s Top Five. That, and to never have to grow up.

Kenny is producer and co-host of “Comedy at the Knitting Factory”, widely considered to be one of New York City’s best independently run shows, and is a regular presence on the New York scene at large. He has appeared in the Brooklyn Comedy Festival, Cape Fear Comedy Festival, and Laugh Your Asheville Off Festival and was featured as an opening act for Hannibal Buress at Notre Dame. Most importantly, he really loves stand-up comedy and would love it if you came out to see him perform.
