Trae Crowder and Corey Forrester will perform at First Friday Comedy at Saw Work on March 4

First Friday Comedy with Trae Crowder

Trae Crowder- Knoxville, TN
Trae Crowder- Knoxville, TN

First Friday Comedy at Saw Works Brewing welcomes Trae Crowder and Corey Forrester to the brewery’s popular comedy series.

Trae calls himself an intellectual redneck. He is a Knoxville-based comedian who performs around the country at comedy festivals and shows. In 2015, he was one of eight comedians selected from across the nation to participate in NBCUniversal’s Late Nite Writers Workshop. He has also performed as the principal cast member on a television pilot produced by TruTV’s Impractical Jokers.

Corey started performing stand-up comedy in Chattanooga when he was just 16 years old. Now at 27, he has lived and performed in New York City, and co-wrote and performed in a country music comedy video by Cledus T. Judd that hit #1 on CMT. While his North Georgia roots have given him an affinity for southern wit and story telling, don’t think you are getting a typical southern comedian. From Race, religion, politics and gender.. his opinions may not be what you would expect from the typical “Red Stater”.

Also performing at this month’s show will be Kristine Kinsey from Knoxville radio’s i105. She has performed stand-up comedy at comedy clubs across the southeast and on Nickelodeon TV’s “Nick Mom’s Night Out.”

Knoxville’s Liz Brooks will perform and our host this month is Sean Simoneau.

As usual, we’ll have plenty of great Saw Works Brewing beers for you. Gonzo Gourmet will be on hand to nourish your bellies and there will be treats available from Sugar Mama’s Bakery, too. Get there early for a good seat. They fill up fast every First Friday.

It’s Super Tuesday at the voting booth and on the Casual Comedy stage. Elect to have fun and join us on March 1, as Casual Comedy welcomes a pair of great comedians from western North Carolina: Tom Scheve and Art Sturtevant.

Tom ScheveTom Scheve has performed at the Laugh Your Asheville Off comedy festival, Cape Fear Comedy Festival, Scruffy City Comedy Festival and was a finalist in the Rocky Top Comedy Competition, and is regularly a featured performer at shows around the region. Tom produces Asheville Disclaimer, an award-winning, weekly satirical feature in the alt-weekly Mountain Xpress.

Tom Scheve is a prolific joke writer, and some of those jokes can be read on twitter at https://twitter.com/tomscheve, or you can read some of his work and see clips of his performances at www.tomscheve.com.

Art SturtevantArt Sturtevant is a smart, funny comic with the interests of a 20-year old and the body of a middle-age man. His observaions on pop culture, being a father and how you can change so much and so little over the span of decades have cracked up audiences all over the East Coast.

Art has performed at Laughing Skull, Comedy Zones, Side Splitters, The Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival, and — back in the day — NYC’s Comedy Cellar, Catch a Rising Star, Sweeps and Triple Inn. Art’s a contributing writer for Asheville Disclaimer, a weekly satire publication.

Get to know Mo:

Mo Arora began performing standup comedy in Montreal and is now based in Atlanta where he has opened for Norm MacDonald, Judah Friendlander, and Kurt Metzger, among others.
