Casual Comedy in Hardin Valley

CC Tumblr 20160705Every month, the Casual Pint in Hardin Valley hosts a west Knoxville comedy show featuring great visiting and local comedians. Join us on the first Tuesday each month for comedy and a great selection of beers. The Casual Pint stocks more than 400 craft beers in the beer market and offers 22 craft beers on tap.

Hosted and produced by the comics of RainShine Comedy, each show includes a spotlight on Scruffy City comedians and some of the best performers from comedy scenes across the nation.

There is no cover charge to attend this west Knoxville comedy event.

This month’s performers are Derik Zoo, Tyler Gooch, Ashton Binkley, and Karen George. Tyler Sonnichsen is our host this month.

About Derik Zoo:
Being born to a militant Muslim father and a Southern Christian woman would make anyone need therapy. Derik Zoo has turned his therapy intostand-up comedy. Known for his charismatic personality and relatable commentary, Derik connects with his audience in a way that makes them think and laugh.

Derik co-starred in the critically acclaimed independent film Bethlehem last year and has been featured on the ABC hit show Nashville. He performs in clubs, colleges, and corporate shows all over the South and Midwest. He loves hugs and hi-fives, so don’t be afraid to give him either after a show.

About Tyler Gooch:
Tyler Gooch is a unique performer with a short attention span. Known for his quirky one-liners and offbeat word play, Tyler uses his laid back delivery to charm crowds nationwide.

Tyler has been featured on all-star shows at Go Bananas Comedy Club and The Laughing Derby and he appeared on CMT’s Young Talent Night at The Stardome. He was a finalist in the Rocky Top Comedy Contest and the winner of the 2014 Comedy Off Broadway Comedy Contest. He can be found every Wednesday hosting the Great Kentucky Mic Off at the Laughing Derby in Louisville.

Murder! at the Pilot Light!

Murder at the Pilot Light show

It promises to be an evening of comedy, merriment, and mayhem at The Pilot Light as a crew of Scruffy City comedians puts together a show featuring stand-up comedy and sketches. Todd Lewis, the show’s producer, says, “It will be a night of surprises. I promise they will be fun surprises and not just me walking around shouting ‘Surprise!’ and throwing bottle rockets at people.”

Scheduled to perform are: Angela Garrone, Ian Ferguson, Liz Brooks, Cliff Andrews, Larissa Radtke, Daniel Wade, Ashton Binkley, Lance Adams, Todd Lewis, Will Fist, Jeff Danger, and The Barfly Gallery Players.

Who are the Barfly Gallery Players? According to Todd Lewis they are “a group of people I was able to weasel into doing various short bits and things during the show. The actual membership of the group will vary depending on how drunk the people were when they agreed to participate and whether they remember it or not.”

For a full description of the event and info about the evening’s performers, visit the event’s Facebook page.
